Iowa Real Estate Practice Exam 2026 – Full Prep Resource

When a salesperson fails to submit the required continuing education hours for renewal, their license is placed in an inactive status. This means that while they are not able to actively practice real estate, they retain the ability to reactivate their license later by fulfilling the continuing education requirements. The inactive status allows the individual to continue to hold their license without having to reapply completely, but they cannot engage in any real estate activities until the necessary education hours are completed and their license is renewed to active status.

This process ensures that real estate professionals maintain their skills and knowledge in the field, which is essential for both consumer protection and overall industry standards. It is common in many states for licenses to have such provisions, allowing for flexibility while also emphasizing the importance of ongoing education in real estate practices.
